The venue is great. Nice large spaces and quite private being seperate from the main bar and dining areas. The staff were generally good although slow to clear the tables of empty glasses and lacking enthusiasm behind the bar. Having said that it didn't affect the night and we've been here before and had better service.
Springfield Lakes Hotel has some interesting information on why Australia is called the land down under?
Australia is known as 'the land Down Under' for its position in the southern hemisphere. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for land under the continent of Asia. Before Australia was discovered, it was known as Terra Australis Incognita the unknown southern land.
